CREA Energy Innovations Summit

The CREA Energy Innovations Summit will feature Kevin Patterson, acting director of the Colorado Energy Office, with some comments about the Governor’s energy agenda. Next will be a general session panel with folks from NREL, EPRI and CRN to talk about recent developments in energy research and innovation.

Then there will be six breakout sessions over the course of the day that will address issues ranging from nuclear power generation to rare earth metals to electric cars to the development of the so-called smart grid.

The luncheon speaker is Dr. Tom Anklam from the Lawrence Livermore Labs and will be present to talk about nuclear fusion and his work with the “LIFE” (Laser Initial Fusion Energy) project.

Next will be, Christine Shapard, Executive Director of the Colorado Cleantech Industries Association, moderating the final general session of the day, discussing the current state of venture capital investments in the energy field with a couple of local experts.

The Innovations Summit will also feature a host of exhibitors and give all attendees a chance to mingle with colleagues, make some new acquaintances, and brainstorm about the future of energy production in Colorado and around the world.
